Mantecaditos


Prep: 10 minutes| Bake: 20 minutes | Yield: 24 Mantecaditos


INGREDIENTS:

½ cup butter, room temperature

½ cup vegetable shortening, cold

⅔ cup sugar

1 tsp almond extract

2¼ cup all-purpose flour

¼ cup guava paste

INSTRUCITONS:

1. In a bowl, soften and mix the butter and shortening.

2.Add the sugar little by little and then add the almond extract. Mix well.

3. Add the flour little by little and unite everything to form the dough until it has the consistency of play dough.

4. Grab a teaspoon of mixture and create a ball with the palms of your hand. Create a little hole in the middle with your index finger.

5. Put them on a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper.

6. Cut the guava paste into squares that fit in the little hole of the mantecaditos.

7. Bake at 350 F for 18-20 minutes, or until golden.

8. Let them cool down (hot guava burns!) and enjoy!
